Chapter 1271
Lauren froze right then, pausing her hand. Meanwhile, the butler also stepped back right as he wanted to dissuade her.
Yvette stifled her sobs as she bawled her eyes out.
"Mommy, I didn't start it! Fleur yelled at me, and Lilia helped her. She pushed me first. Mommy, you said I could fight back if someone hits me. Wah..."
"Lilia said you're a bad woman, a vixen, that's why I don't have a daddy. A vixen stole Lilia's daddy away. She said I'm a little vixen born from a big vixen, a little witch who steals people. She also said she wanted to ruin my face so that I can't steal anyone in the future. She hit me first! She scratched me too. She fell down herself!"
She reached her little limb out, revealing a clear red mark on the back of her fair hand. Her tears fell like a never-ending waterfall, absolutely aggrieved.
"Mommy's not a bad woman! Mommy is the best mommy in the world! I'm not a little witch too..."
"They cannot say that about you! They're jealous I have a pretty mommy! Their mommies don't love them and even hit them. Their mommies are the
bad women!"
"Mommy..."
Tears welled up in Lauren's eyes as Yvette cried, and she could no longer hold them back as she pulled her baby girl into her arms. "There, there, Yvette, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have hit you!"
Holding her little hand, Lauren blew on it. "Does it still hurt?"
Stifling her sobs, Yvette went in for another hug, nuzzling aggressively in her arms.
"Mommy, let's ask Daddy to come back! They won't talk bad about me and won't call me a little witch when Daddy comes back, right? I don't want toys anymore. I don't want a big house too. I'll be a good girl; I don't want Bree anymore. I want Daddy to come back! They won't dare to talk bad about me anymore if Mommy and Daddy pick me up from school..."
Feeling as though something had crushed her heart, for the first time, Lauren suddenly realized there were some things she couldn't compensate Yvette no matter how!
A child's world was very straightforward; either she had, or she didn't. How could she possibly understand any of the grudges between the adults?
Lauren's heart wrenched as he stroked her daughter's hair. "Do you really want to see Daddy?" "Yeah! Didn't you say Daddy is the most awesomest Daddy? Fleur's daddy, that, that... bad man, also looks very awesome. He bought her the latest doll and even got her a cake this big. No one said she doesn't have a daddy anymore, and they even start playing with her now..."
Surprised that a child's world could be this complicated at the same time, Lauren wiped her face gently, looking at Yvette's puffy but stunning eyes. "Okay, I'll take you to see Daddy later! Don't cry anymore, Yvette. Let's wash your face and get changed, okay?"
Yvette immediately wiped her face clean and smiled at that. "Okay!"
After leading her upstairs, Lauren cleaned her hand and applied some anti-inflammatory ointment on it, then helped her get changed and braided her hair back up, making sure she was dressed up before making a phone call.
"He's now in... in the company? Okay, got it!"
Lauren packed two fitting clothes into her bag and had her carry on her back, and even prepared some snacks and water for her before she took out a fluffy toy poodle plushie from the highest shelf. After all that was done, she held Yvette's
hand.
"Let's go!"
It wasn't until they reached Centurion Financial Group that she handed the poodle plushie to Yvette, asking, "Do you remember everything I taught you?"
Yvette nodded heavily.
"Go in then!"
"Are you not coming with me, Mommy? Does Daddy really know who I am?"
Lauren stroked her daughter's hair.
"Of course! He'll definitely know you if you hold on to this toy dog! I have to go to work and make money for us. Go home with Daddy after you've found him, okay?"
"Okay, can you cook tonight, Mommy? Make a few more dishes; I want to eat with Daddy!"
Lauren froze for a split second, suddenly choking with sobs, then smiled. "Sure!"

Yvette? You cannot give this toy dog to anyone except for Daddy. He also has the exact same one with a different color. This thing here is the same! If someone wants to take you
away, what should you do?
As she spoke, Lauren pointed to the silver dog tag, uniquely designed with two Ds. Willy never threw away the other half; she had seen it.
"Cry loudly and call for the police! Don't go out of the building. My daddy is the greatest; he'll come and save me!"
"Yes, that's right, good girl. Go on, go in!"
Lauren only waved her goodbye after tidying up her little backpack, but the lump in her throat was getting more and more unbearable. Yvette turned around, looking back every now and then but still trotted inside.
After making sure she entered the lobby, Lauren turned to the secluded corner aside, squatted down, and cried her eyes out.
Yvette was very much at a loss for what to do after entering the lobby, tugging on a few of the adult's clothes but not getting a single. response. Then she suddenly covered her ears and shouted in the
middle of the lobby. Content belongsnoveldrama
"Daddy..."
It worked, she instantly attracted quite a few attention, and a security guard came to her very quickly. "Little miss, are you lost? How about I take you back to your home?"
"No! I want to look for my Daddy!" Yvette put some distance between herself and the security guard.
Then a manager came over. "Whose child is this that has gotten lost? Don't let her run around here. Take her aside, quickly!"
However, right as the security guard touched her, Yvette cried out loud, "Don't touch me, or I'll tell my daddy to fire you!"
Lauren taught her all that, and she seared it into her brain. She didn't understand the purpose of doing so, but her cries were quite intimidating, rendering the two adults stumped.
"My daddy is the greatest here. If you chase me out, I'll tell Daddy to fire all of you! I want to sit on the highest chair and wait for my daddy here!" Everyone was rendered stumped by the commotion she caused. Soon everyone crowded and began gossiping.
"What a beautiful little girl. Where did she come from? I never heard any of the bosses have a daughter this big."
"But don't you think she looks...

really familiar? She can't genuinely be some manager's daughter, can she? Look at her clothes; is that Armani Junior? That's a global high- end child clothing brand! Is she wearing this year's latest line? Looks a little like the adult's line
"The bag, it's from Dior, isn't it?! She can't possibly be our CEO's..." Illegitimate daughter, could she?
Hearing those words, everyone burst into an uproar right then, and everyone thought she looked more and more alike the more they looked at her. Right then, dozens of eyeballs looked over to Yvette, flabbergasted!
What do you think?
