Chapter 744
Chapter 744
"She won't die."
Hera counted the time in her head. Then, she took out a few needles and inserted them into Amelia's body. The bleeding gradually stopped.
"Disinfect and bandage her wound," Hera instructed the female staff member.
"Got it," the female staff member promptly responded.
Fifteen minutes later, the female staff member finished bandaging Amelia's wound, and
Hera had removed all the needles. The abnormal red on Amelia's cheeks subsided, and she fell asleep while leaning against the edge of the bathtub.
Hera packed her stuff and headed outside, where Gideon and Bernard were waiting for her in awkward silence.
"Is she alright?" Gideon asked upon noticing Hera.
She hummed in response.
The female staff member helped Amelia get dressed and carried her to the bed. After tucking her in bed, she left the room.
Noticing Gideon's glance at the woman on the bed, Hera asked, "Why are you with her, Gideon?"
He took his stuff. "Let's talk outside."
As soon as the door closed, the sleeping Amelia suddenly opened her eyes with tears trickling down from the corners of her eyes.
Although the Gaskell family had never cared much about her, Queenie provided her with enough needs. However, Amelia's life plummeted after the downfall.
She had to work to survive, but many companies refused to take her in due to her family's tarnished reputation. Even her best friends cut contact with her.noveldrama
The desperate Amelia was lured into working at a nightclub, becoming a bar girl. However, instead of a bar girl, a rich guy treated her as a call girl.
If it weren't for Gideon, she would've been assaulted.
Still, she lost her job in the nightclub. Gideon pitied her and introduced her to an accountant job at his friend's place.
His friend accepted her because of Gideon. Although it was an accounting job, she was always either running errands or entertaining the clients.
She was supposed to entertain a client tonight too. However, it was the rich guy she had offended the previous time. She was so terrified that she thought she would die right there.
That was when Gideon showed up again. He always showed up like an angel to save her during her most difficult and vulnerable moments.
Recalling those perverted men who tried to force drinks on her and made cruel advances on her, she felt disgusted. Compared to them, Gideon was a gentleman who never took advantage of her even after she was drugged. He even went out of his way to call Hera over to treat her.
If she had known this day would come, she wouldn't have done those things to the Everett family back then.
Wiping her tears away, she found her phone and opened her WhatsApp. She wanted to send a message to Gideon, but she kept deleting and writing the messages.
In the end, she typed, "Sorry. Thank you."
Just when she was about to hit 'send', she hesitated. She had caused him enough trouble tonight. Would this message seem too deliberate to him?
In the end, she threw her phone aside and stayed in bed. She didn't sleep a wink until the next morning came.
That was when she took her phone and sent that message.
On the other hand, Gideon had just woken up when he saw her message. He didn't think much about it as he went to the bathroom.
Back at Youngworth Miracle Clinic, Hera was applying a special cream on her wound. The scabs had fallen off, leaving a fresh scar.
Then, she wore long sleeves to cover the scar. Although the scar would gradually fade, she still couldn't feel her hand.
"How are you feeling?" Catherine removed the golden needles from Hera's body.
Hera tried to move her left hand, but she still couldn't feel it. She shook her head. Catherine frowned. This was also her first time encountering such a case.
They had used up the remaining Eclipse Stone to make the special medicine, but it wasn't effective.
"How could this be? I've cured all sorts of bizarre illnesses, but why can't I cure your hand?" Catherine felt guilty.
"Don't blame yourself. We'll find a way," Hera comforted her.
She didn't want Catherine to feel pressured, so she averted the topic. Soon after that, the next patient arrived.
Hera left the room and happened to see Bernard carrying a pile of packages to the western wing.
She grew curious. What was it that Bernard had to take the packages himself?
"What did you buy? There are so many of them. Need help?"
What do you think?
